LORENZO’S (OLIVE) OIL

A harvest shaped by tradition, work and the land.

I was given access to follow Lorenzo during the olive harvest in Extremadura, documenting the work behind a product that is central to the region’s landscape, economy and culture.

On a cold November morning outside Los Santos de Maimona, Lorenzo harvested his olives using methods that have changed little over generations, working among the trees and bringing the crop in from the field.

The story goes beyond the olives themselves. It is about the physical work of harvesting, the relationship between farmer and land, and the knowledge carried through a rural tradition that remains part of everyday life.
