AMONG OLIVE TREES
A landscape shaped by people, work and tradition.
The olive grove is more than a landscape. It is a working environment, a source of livelihood and a part of the cultural identity of rural Spain.
I photograph agriculture from the inside, working alongside the people who cultivate the land and documenting the work, processes, traditions and relationships that shape what eventually reaches the consumer.
My knowledge of rural Spain, fluent Spanish and English, and the relationships I have built locally allow me to approach farmers naturally and gain access to their working environments. That access makes it possible to photograph people at work, rather than simply photographing the landscape around them, revealing the human story behind the land and the product.
My approach combines documentary observation, environmental portraiture, landscape, detail and process photography, using both natural and controlled light where appropriate to create images that are authentic to the environment while remaining visually strong and commercially useful.
The result is photography that can tell the story behind agricultural businesses, food and beverage brands, rural destinations and traditional products, connecting the land, the people and the work that give them their identity.
